A cozy throw quilt, made with patterned fabrics I cyanotyped with bamboo fronds, then complemented with batik fabrics. The quilt is made with fleece for the batting (the inside layer) and flannel for the back, which adds warmth and helps keep the quilt from slipping–perfect for a winter’s nap!
In designing the cyanotypes, I used the same stems for the longer panels, flipping them for an almost mirror symmetry. Similarly, the diamonds and stars employ the same small stems reversed. The cyanotypes are on patterned fabric, primarily white-on-white swirl patterned fabric that gives a subtle patterning in the dark blue areas. These are complemented with several batik fabrics, enhancing the organic look of the quilt.
