A big thank you to all our donors and partners for the success of the Chronic Market’s film screening and raffle for ME/CFS awareness month, held in Washington, DC May 25. More than 50 people around the world, from Berlin to Cape Town, viewed the acclaimed documentary Unrest, a new short from Norwegian filmmaker Sunniva Innstrand “Life in the Shadowlands” on her lived experience with ME/CFS, and experimental film “The Body without a Face” written by UK ME/CFS sufferer April Hook in our virtual film fest, with others viewing the series live in person at Washington DC’s sPACYcLOUd venue. Nearly a dozen makers with ME/CFS as well as healthy allies donated one of a kind prizes worth more than $1,000 to the event’s raffle.
After expenses, the event raised $1,400, with a 100% of net proceeds donated to the Open Medicine Foundation and ME Action to benefit ME/CFS research and advocacy for this poorly funded and understood disease debilitating millions around the world.
