Terapia de Hilos

Hi! I’m Nar, the hands and mind behind Terapia de Hilos‘ creations. I am an eternally anxious mom of two, nerdy classics teacher, and rainbow-lover artist.

I was diagnosed with ME-CFS on March 2019 after a few years of looking for answers and a whole life of feeling like I was born tired. By then I wasn’t only exhausted, I was also in pain all the time from trying to push through, working full-time and crashing badly the moment I arrived home. Now I’ve gotten better at knowing my limits and pacing myself, but coming to terms with how hard it is to do things I love and not just surviving (and making sure my kids do too!) is still a daily struggle.

From very young my brain was always creating new fantasy worlds, but I focused on writing and drawing for most of my childhood and teenage years. Then, I learned to crochet after my son was born, and I’ve since fallen in love with fiber arts and their mindfulness, specially embroidery and temari ball stitching. Terapia de Hilos (“Thread Therapy” in Spanish), as the name hints at, was first born as some kind of self-therapy, and slowly evolved into what it is today: a joyful job I hope may turn into a flexible full time one that works around my needs and symptoms.
