We are excited to have Hannah Gimblett, botanical photographer and long-time ME/CFS sufferer, join the Chronic Market.
In her words: “I’m Hannah, a passionate photographer based in Devon, England. It’s wonderful to be part of Chronic Market and the wonderful network of ME creatives they’re building.
I’ve been chronically ill with various conditions for over 23 years and struggling with severe ME since the beginning of 2007, it’s certainly been a very long haul filled with hundreds of medical professionals, years in and out of hospitals and overall an uphill struggle.
The past three years have been particularly challenging, with a deterioration of my health, meaning I’ve been completely bed-bound since June of 2019.
This certainly has put an awful lot of hurdles in front of my photography and creating the work that I love, but a creative bedside setup enables me to continue with my photography, despite not being able to move from my bed, which truly means more than I can put into words. Art and creativity are incredible, especially in the toughest of times.
I have a range of photographic styles, but my specialty mainly sits with botanicals, I adore being able to attempt to capture their beauty and to still have that connection with nature, despite not being able to go outside, which means a great deal.”
